The current study explores the relationship between Late-night Mobile phone use, Perceived Stress and Sleep Quality among young adults. A quantitative correlational design of research was implemented and the collection of data were from 340 young adults aged 18 to 25 years residing in Islamabad, Pakistan, using a convince sampling technique. Participants completed a demographic questionnaire, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Pearson product moment correlation, multiple linear regression and independent samples t-test were conducted using SPSS Version 27. The results showed a significant positive interrelationship between perceived stress and sleep quality (r = .30, p < .01), as well as between late night mobile phone use and sleep quality (r = .25, p <.01). However, no significant interrelationship was found between perceived stress and late-night mobile phone use (r = .10, p > .05). Multiple regression analysis indicated that perceived stress and late-night mobile phone use significantly anticipated sleep quality, accounting for 14% of the variance (R2 = .14, F = 26.80, p <.001). Independent samples t-test showed a significant gender difference in late night mobile phone, with males reporting higher usage than females, whereas there was no significant difference in genders observed for Perceived Stress or Sleep Quality. The results suggested that both the perceived stress and late-night mobile phone use are important predictors of sleep quality among young adults. The result indicates that perceived stress and Late-night Mobile phone usage significantly predict Sleep Quality among young adults. Altogether, these results highlight the importance of better sleep hygiene, management of stress and more restricted use of mobile phone at night if one wants to strengthen one’s overall well-being more broadly.
