Abstract

The present study examined the mediating roles of cognitive re-appraisal and expressive suppression in the relationships between digital loneliness, bedtime procrastination and psychological well-being among mid-life working women. A cross-sectional design was used in this research study. The sample consisted of 300 midlife working women selected through the purposive sampling technique. The data was collected by using standardized questionnaires such as UCLA Loneliness Scale, Bedtime Procrastination Scale, Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and WHO-5 Wellbeing Index, measuring our study variables. The mediation analysis was conducted using SPSS. Our results indicated partial significant relationships among the study variables. The analysis showed that expressive suppression partially mediated the relationship between digital loneliness and wellbeing, whereas cognitive re-appraisal was non-significant in our sample. Also, significant group differences were observed across work-life balance levels.
